Is there a video editing software that allows you to add Gujarati subtitles to a video?
Q. I'm talking about subtitles with Gujarati symbols. ELFa: obviously computers aren't that smart. I meant: Is there an app that contains the Gujarati fonts (or can have it downloaded)? I know I would have to be entering it in when editing it.
Asked by Mandeep - Thu Feb 11 02:23:53 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Regardless of the language, all Subtitles must be included by the author of the individual video. There's no "Magic Bullet" app that can listen to a movies voice content and CREATE subtitles. Computers just aren't smart enough, or powerful enough, yet.

Where can I find nutritional information for Gujarati food?
Q. I'm starting to become a little more health conscious but am finding it hard to find the nutritional information for gujarati dishes, for example Dal Dhokli. Is there anywhere where I can find this information?
Asked by Nayan C - Sat Jan 10 18:08:18 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. There isn't much nutritional info available. Usually I just google and go whichever answer seems sensible. If you are making something at home, do what I do and go to a large database like www.calorieking.com. There you can find the caloric value for all the foods in your recipe, and add it up yourself. I've done this for all the recipes I make often. For example, the way I make dhal it ends up being about 2200 calories for the whole pot, and it makes 9 bowls with my size bowl, so I've calculated that each one is 245 calories (and whatever other info you're interested in is there too). I only had to do it once for each recipe, it was a tiny pain, but now I've kept the information on a word file for many recipes and I have it whenever… [cont.]

How to build a website showing 4 languages: English, Hindi, Bengali and Gujarati?
Q. I am building a website that is predominantly in English but also contains some content in Hindi, Bengali and Gujarati. The information available in each language is different. I cannot decide whether to create individual sections for each language or mix them in each page. Are there any best practices for designing multilingual websites or really good examples you have seen?
Asked by Dearbhla M - Wed Dec 24 08:24:33 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You might want to create a front page that offers viewers the choice of language they would prefer. Then have four subdomains that have the same content but in different languages. e.g. english.yourdomain.com, hindi.yourdomain.com, bengali.yourdomain.com, and gujarati.yourdomain.com. When the viewer clicks the language he/she prefers, it takes them to the index.html file on that subdomain. So, if I click on English, then the link takes me to english.yourdomain.com, and I can read the contents in English.

A. They are related as much as Spanish and French are or English and Dutch, some similarities but on the whole completely different. Examples: (what is your name?) Hindi - "aap ka naam kyaa hai?" Punjabi - "twaada naa ki eh?" Bengali - "tumar naam kita?" Gujarati - "tamaro naam soo che?" (how would I know) Hindi - "mujhko kaise maaloom?" Punjabi "menoo kiveh pataa?" (I'm from the UK) Hindi -"mein vilaayat se hoon" Punjabi "meh vilet thoo aan" Gujarati "ao inglend me rehna choo" etc...

Asked by parimal_rathod7684 - Tue Jan 30 01:36:08 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I've never heard of a trilingual dictionary like that, but since you're dealing with SANSKRIT, which is on the same level as Latin (i.e. very important to the development of languages), you might find useful etymological-type dictionaries. Try doing searches at amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com that include all of these words: sanskrit, english, gujarati . You can also try general internet sources for "sanskrit, english, gujarati, dictionary, author" (all of the terms at once.) Realistically, your best bet will probably be to buy two or three dictionaries: Sanskrit <---> English, Sanskrit <---> Gujarati, and English <---> Gujarati. You need all three for best accuracy of understanding. Buying each from a different publisher will give… [cont.]

Q. Here is the phrase: Too Bow harro day kai If you know any Gujarati words please translate them in english for me. Things I want to know are: Hello Bye Fly-the bug Rock- like party not the stone.. Can you give me some food? When do you have to leave? Did you get your car? If you know any other words that would be great! Also if you know any indian food can you tell me what they are called. I know Bahkervari (dont know how to spell it). Thanks again!

A. Here is the phrase: Too Bow harro day kai Too (actual word is tu) = you Bow (actual word is bahu) = very harro (slang of word saaro) = good (used for referring to male) day kai (actual word is dekhaay) = look So if you put them all together, you have: you (some male) look very good Things I want to know are: Hello - there's no literal translation of this in Gujarati. But you can say "namaste" meaning greetings or "kem chho?" meaning how are you? Bye - aavjo (come back again) Fly-the bug - maakhi Rock- like party not the stone.. - again, not sure if there's a Gujarati word for this. Can you give me some food? - mane (to me) kaik (some) khaavaanu (food) aapsho (would you please give)? When do you have to leave? - tamaare (you would)… [cont.]

A. draw a line on top of the letters and you will notice that there is not too much difference. though they are all based on the devanagari script, there are differences in the north indian languages. i am not north indian and my hindi is shaky but i think i can manage to read enough in most north indian languages to catch the right bus :)

What's the name of that Gujarati tribe where men have red turbans?
Q. Men have huge, red turbans and big, gold piercings in the upper ears. Women are also covered in gold. I saw a bunch of them in Dvaraka, when I went to see Sri Dvarakadhisha, so I figured they are a local tribe. I'd like to see pictures of them on google. Actually, I am researching Indian tribal jewelry, so any source about that would be as well appreciated. Thanks!

The game continues on with 2 cards,3,4,5 up to 7 cards, then back from 6 to 1...if i am confusing you i can try and re-word this for you,but the only other game i know of is called spades but i think you may be looking for the game called "trumps wild". i could be way wrong here but trumps wild is the only game i know that is played how u described in your question...hope to have helped :)
