The performing arts are those forms of art which differ from the plastic arts insofar as the former uses the artist's own body, face, and presence as a medium, and the latter uses materials such as clay, metal or paint which can be molded or transformed to create some physical art object. The term "performing arts" first appeared in the English language in the year 1711. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Hi there! I know there's no requirement of a degree when opening a business, however, i was wondering if anyone knew any "concentrated" fields that i could possibly consider. I'd like to open a Performing Arts Studio and possibly later collaborate with an Entertainment Agency(ies). If you would happen to know, i'd really appreciate your guidance! Thanks!!! Take care. =] Asked by Believer - Tue Dec 30 16:46:41 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments Would it be a good idea to go to a performing arts high school? Q. Hi, I am interested in going to a performing arts high school. Is that a good idea? I want to double major with theater when I go to college. It is a charter school. Do you think that that is a good idea to pursue my dream? Asked by Miss Taken - Sun Jun 22 16:38:58 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. YES! I went to the boarding school Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, and it was AWESOME! I wish I would have been able to go all 4 years of high school. It should provide you with a good focused education on what you want to learn, as well as being around other people who are equally talented! Good Luck! I know you would love it! Answered by AngelaSD - Tue Jun 24 00:53:44 2008 What are the best performing arts universities in the USA?
Q. Im looking to go to a performing arts university in the USA but as i do not currently live there i am not aware of any. Please could you recommend the best universities for performing arts in the USA. Preferably in LA or New York. Thanks :) Asked by Hayley R - Sun Jun 14 07:24:33 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Don't assume LA or NY has the best art schools. If you are in love with simply a social dream then you may not be ready for a conservatory arts program. in Philadelphia there is the University of the Arts. then you have NYU and Juilliard in NY, Boston Conservatory in Boston. Don't forget you have to audition. It's not like other colleges where you send them a check and you are in. You have to show you have technique and have been training on you own for a good deal of time. Answered by Christopher R - Sun Jun 14 08:23:55 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "performing arts" |
